North Kingdom teamed up with Y&R North America to create content for LG’s first ever wrap around HD billboard in Times Square, New York. Meet Gil, Good News Ambassador for LG! Using realtime rendering software Unity, we created a detailed and dynamic scheme for Gil to follow. With the main purpose of delivering good news through the day, he presents tweets and text messages generated by the public, and moderated current news.
We started out from scratch, working on everything from character design to concepts of actions and figuring out how to fill out an entire day with content. I got the honour to design and animate the logo and create bumpers for 6 of the different segments, led by art director Carolina Cwiklinska. My work also included creating assets and animations to placed in the environment together with Gil, like floating tweets and twitter birds. The hole process included a lot of work across a diverse number of different software, working with a medium requiring a lot of attention to visability in an environment where standing out from the crowd is just the first step.
